Meet the Savannah Costuming Academy

We are an organization that promotes the hands-on learning of quality constructed costumes to everyone in the community. Since 2015, our goal has been to bring people together not just to talk about costumes—but to actually build them side-by-side, sharing skills, techniques, and experience in a collaborative environment.

Over the years, we’ve run workshops, courses, and public events that helped people of all ages—from beginners to experienced builders—learn, create, and connect.

On select Saturdays we run workshops for all skill levels of costuming where members have access to work areas, various equipment, premade patterns, consumable supplies, and much more to hone skills without additional costs.

At our core, we’re about:

• Mentorship and skill-sharing
• Building a supportive creative community
• Helping people turn ideas into finished costumes

Even after setbacks like COVID and rebuilding phases, we’re still here—with a strong foundation, resources like our pattern library, and a focus on continuing to grow a community of makers.
